I'm the face.... and fingers, behind the Country
Corner Gift Shop blog. Born and raised in Turner,
I graced the halls of Turner Elementary in the 1980's and graduated Cascade Highschool in 1992. After graduation, I served 7 years as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy, married a Texan, (also military) and had 3 kids.
We loved Turner so much, we bought my childhood home and enjoy watching our grandchildren run and play in the same backyard I enjoyed when I was little.
Do you know how hard it is to talk about yourself?
So horrible!
And to top it all off.. just after introducing myself... I'm telling you that I'm going to take a break.
Perfect timing!
I'm sure you will understand.
We are getting ready to put on a new roof
Our youngest son is getting married in 4 weeks.
Family is going to be staying with us.
You get it....
A Season of Rest...
There are only so many hours in the day.
Summer schedules seem to be made just to be broken. Late night conversations inspire and stir the
soul to action, there is no rest for the weary.
The taste of hazy dreams still linger when the sun wakes, leaving a sense of wonder and anticipation as we chase the minutes of a new day.
Rest is a gift you give yourself.
A precious few seconds to breathe.
To gather thoughts.
To be a better you.
Life is about balance...
“Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” Mark 6:31
I love that the Father knows what we need.
Things are not slowing down here at the Country Corner,
in fact, new things are coming!
Taking time to reflect and rest is a priority, so we are setting
aside our weekly blog to enjoy the summer and the
season ahead! So many fun things happening!
See you at the corner.
